How To: Cold Buster Tea || Recipes 2017

Hi loves,

Recently I have been sick, which isn’t unusual because it’s still the middle of winter in the North-East. I found this recipe through Alexandrea Garza’s vlog channel on YouTube several months ago, and is my go-to tea when I start feeling a little under the weather- or if I just want a nice pick-me-up. Alex got the recipe off of the Starbucks Secret Menu, so like her, I purchased the drink from Starbucks first to see if I liked it, and then I went out and bought the ingredients so I can make it at home! Let’s get started!

So, first off, the original Starbucks recipe is for a Venti size and calls for:

  • 1 bag of Peach Tranquility tea
  • 1 bag of Jade Citrus Mint tea
  • Half hot water
  • Half steamed lemonade
  • Honey
  • 1 pump of peppermint (optional)

Now, I tweaked the recipe a little bit once I got the ingredients for myself, and you can do the same as well! For tea, I purchased the Celestial tea’s because they are more widely available to me than Tazo or Teavana. So, to duplicate it, I bought Country Peach Passion and Peppermint tea. Then, instead of lemonade, I used freshly squeezed lemon juice or lemon juice concentrate- it gives the same effect but cuts the sugar WAY down. And next, I just added about 1-2 tablespoons of local honey- you can add more to counteract the lemon juice!

I really hope you guys liked this post since it is new material for me to be posting on my blog, but I really like playing around with recipes and figured I should share it with you guys! Leave in the comments if you tried this out and what you thought of it!

XXOO,

T
